Building a "WHOA" Board

This is how to build a "WHOA" board for training.

Materials needed:

  • 2 - 2" x 4" x 28" (pine 2x4)
  • 2 - 2" x 4" x 12 1/2" (pine 2x4)
  • 1 - 26" x 16" x 1/2" (plywood)
  • 22 - Deck screws of your choice

Tools needed:

  • Circular saw to cut 2x4's and plywood to size
  • Cordless drill to run screws and make pilot holes
  • Optional 1/8" drill bit if you want to have pilot holes for the screws to prevent potential splitting of the wood
  • Bits for deck screws
  • Optional bit extension for the screw bits
  • Your choice of paint if you should want to paint the platform

Step 1 - Screw the 12 1/2" 2x4's between the 28" 2x4's together to form a rectangle.

Step 2 - Screw the plywood to the base you just put together.

Step 3 - Paint the platform if you desire.
