You trained your dog all winter, spring, and summer and finally test day has arrived and you are running your prodigy. Your dog performs virtually flawlessly, maybe a couple of minor stumbles, but you are happy and certain of a high score and a prize!
The judges start reading scores for your amazing hunter and you are confused. Not what you were expecting! What the heck?
Do you want to get inside a judge’s mind? Train your dog to score as well as possible? Know what to do and not do on test day?
The Aims and Rules clinic puts a seasoned NAVHDA judge at your fingertips, in the classroom and then in the field. Over two days he will educate you on expectations for each level of NAVHDA testing. Using our own club’s dogs, the clinic leader will demonstrate the test protocols and explain what judges are looking for, how they score your dog and much more. In fact, you will have the opportunity to apply your classroom learning and will judge demonstration dogs in the field.
But remember this is not a training session for dogs. It is a session to explain and demonstrate to dog owners what the aims and rules of testing are and how to help your dog do as well as possible on test day.
